ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY
The New Life Christian Academy & Preparatory School provides both academic and Christian training to all students. We believe in putting God first in all that we do, therefore each morning begins with devotion and training from the Word of God. Although the remainder of the day is devoted to academic training, the environment is always one of Christian love. We believe that we are called to raise and prepare the next generation for the purpose in which God has made them. Our goal is to see that each student reaches his or her maximum potential. Our school provides a wide variety of curricula for students.
New Life Christian Academy uses the A-BEKA, Alpha Omega & Prentice Hall curricula, which are geared towards college-bound students. Junior & Seniors have the opportunity to participate in the Dual-Credit program with Fayetteville Technical College to receive college credit before graduating from high school.

Our PreK 4 program introduces children to a variety of written expression, language immersion skills, shapes, numbers, Biblical principals as well as introductory phonics. The students are not only prepared for Kindergarten but develop character building skills along the journey.
The K4-K5 program gives a solid foundation in exceptional reading skills. With this intensive phonics approach, students are able to begin reading words very quickly. They learn to recognize each long and short vowel, all the consonants, read one and two-vowel words, and special sounds. Students review their phonics as they practice correct cursive writing formation in the K-5 writing tablets. Number time in kindergarten emphasizes number recognition and number concepts up to one hundred. Students learn money value, telling time, number words, and number sequence. Our K-5 program includes Social Studies, Science, Drama, Art, Character Training, and a kindergarten graduation program. Our kindergarten students enjoy a balanced foundation for elementary school.

Information technology is a tool that is interwoven through a child’s learning process at the New Life Christian Academy & Preparatory School. Technology is not to be used as a crutch, but to enhance learning. New Life Christian Academy & Preparatory School has a computer lab and laptops available to students. Other tools, from DVDs to graphic calculators are used to facilitate the learning process. Students are taught not just how to use technology, but why and how technology works. At the New Life Christian Academy & Preparatory School, technology is not a substitute for critical thinking. Nor is extensive time spent learning programs that will be quickly obsolete. Instead, we focus on traditional curriculum and enhance our learning with technology.

Applying to universities is a critical point of personal transition, and we strive to help students through that process beginning with the 9th grade and culminating with your child attending the University of his or her choice.
Each year, high school students are taken on campus tours to have a better understanding of university life and the criteria that must be met to achieve academic success at an advanced level.
At the New Life Christian Academy & Preparatory School, both administration and teachers aid in the university counseling process for students. We advise students on scholarship opportunities and explore the best opportunities for each student. .
For students sixteen years old and above who do not feel that the classroom is for them, we have a distance learning program. The program will allow these students to attend class once a week for tutorials, and testing. Students will need to have a working knowledge of computers and internet usage.
In order to utilize the distance learning program, students must have access to a computer with internet capability since some assignments and assistance can be obtained on-line. Distance Learning students must adhere to the school’s dress code and conduct/safety policy.
Students must be present during required meeting times. In accordance with North Carolina guidelines, we will use this as a method of keeping an attendance record on each student.
Students are required to take test, complete assignments and log on-line when required for classroom discussions with other distance learning students and the instructor. Unless notified otherwise, students will take test weekly in the school’s testing center. If students take more than one course at a time, at least two subjects must be tested weekly.
Distance learning requires that one be self-motivated and disciplined. Each student will determine how rapidly he or she completes the program.
